Phishing and Smishing

Stop before you click!

If you receive a text or email asking you to click a link or download a file but weren’t expecting it DO NOT CLICK on the link.

There has been an increase in “SMISHING & PHISHING” attacks.  Phishing is an attempt to get your personal information by impersonating as a legitimate, trustworthy source.  Smishing is the act of doing this via text messaging (SMS).  In both cases, there is often a sense of urgency (i.e. your account is locked) and the text/ email may contain spelling and grammatical errors.

If you receive a suspicious text/email claiming to be Bayview Credit Union, please let us know.
