Elizabeth Gormley



Elizabeth Gormley is a retired manager and has been a member of Bayview Credit Union for over 21 years. She has a Masters degree in Adult Education and a Bachelor of Business degree, as well as a Certificate of Proficiency in French from UNB.

Elizabeth has served on the Board of Directors since 2014 and has been a member of the Credit Committee, By-Law Committee and Nominating Committee.

Elizabeth’s most recent work experience was as a Common Clerk with the City of Saint John. She held this position for 5 years, managed a staff of 7 and served as a member of the Senior Leadership team which administered the City through Council. Her previous positions included Deputy Clerk for the City, Acting Regional Director and Manager with the Provincial Department of Social Development, Manager of Employment Outreach-YM-YWCA, Paymaster and Bookkeeper Saint John Hilton, Owner/Manager Kettle Creek Canvas Company and Assistant to Consular Officer, Canadian High Commission, Kingston, Jamaica.

Elizabeth possesses strong leadership, team and organizational skills as well as abilities and experience in complex problem solving and decision making. She has served on several boards, the most recent being the City of Saint John Pension Board and Saint John Energy, where she developed expertise in governance, structured debate, meeting procedures and privacy issues.

Elizabeth believes in the concept of cooperatives and has had a positive experience as a member of Bayview Credit Union for many years.
