Bayview Anti-Spam Policy

BAYVIEW Credit Union (“BAYVIEW”) has a “no tolerance” spam policy to protect our members and other individuals who receive our messages. We only send commercial electronic messages (CEMs) from our servers in compliance with this Anti-Spam Policy.

What is Spam?
Spam is the use of electronic messaging systems (including most broadcast media and digital delivery systems) to send unsolicited bulk messages, also known as junk mail, indiscriminately. A CEM is spam if:

  1. The recipient's individual identity and background are immaterial because the message is equally applicable to many other potential recipients; and
  2. The recipient has not given, in a verifiable form, explicit or implied permission for the message to be sent. This permission remains revocable at all times.

Many spam messages also contain false or misleading information.

When does BAYVIEW send commercial electronic messages?
BAYVIEW only sends CEMs in the following situations:

  • BAYVIEW is responding to a request for information from you;
  • You have explicitly told us that you would like to receive these messages;
  • BAYVIEW is communicating with you about your account, loan or similar relationship with us;
  • BAYVIEW must provide you with relevant information that you are entitled to receive about products or services you have purchased from us;
  • You have given us your e-mail address, or have published your e-mail address, without placing any restrictions on its use;
  • You have an existing business relationship with BAYVIEW;
  • You have a subscription with BAYVIEW; or
  • You have provided a donation or volunteer services to us.

How does BAYVIEW protect you from receiving spam?
CEMs sent, or caused to be sent, from BAYVIEW’s servers never:

  • Use or contain invalid or forged headers or invalid or non-existent domain names;
  • Employ any technique to otherwise misrepresent you;
  • Hide or obscure any information in identifying the point of origin or the transmission path;
  • Use any means of deceptive addressing;
  • Use a third party's Internet domain name, or relay from or through a third party's equipment, without permission of the third party; or
  • Contain false or misleading information in the subject line or otherwise contain false or misleading content.
  • BAYVIEW does not knowingly do business with any company that participates in sending spam. BAYVIEW does not sell or exchange your information. We do not permit or authorize others to collect, compile or obtain any information about our members, including but not limited to, member e-mail addresses.

What if you no longer want to receive messages from BAYVIEW?

All BAYVIEW CEMs provide you with the ability to unsubscribe or opt out of receiving CEMs from BAYVIEW. When you “unsubscribe” using the links provided in our CEMs, your request will be processed as soon as possible, and no later than 10 days after you send the request.
